Android Database Work Sucks… So Make It Easier
posted on October 24, 2011
// I know, I know, those Android boys keep trying to do things to make database work easier and more common sense. But the fact is… it’s still not really that good. The ContentResolver, for instance, seems like a nice design pattern until you get more than a few tables working in one app. Then what? Then you’re talking about the pain of marshaling all that data yourself, either from the Cursor object returned or into your own objects. And what a pain in the ass that is. When developing SexyToiletParty, we decided to go a route of our own… Read more…
The Evolution of the SexyToiletParty Dashboard
posted on October 19, 2011
When we first started brainstorming and designing SexyToiletParty, we really thought this app would be simple with four main screens. The map where activity in your area was taking place, a list of the locations in your area where you could check into, and your profile so you could keep track of your check-ins.

The Importance of Admin Tools

Starting yesterday, I began work on a set of admin tools for the SexyToiletParty app. How’d we do administration before? heh heh… you don’t want to know… Or maybe you do. Maybe that’s why you’re here. Just looking at the dashboard of the app, you can see a whole lot of different things popping up. The number of feeds from which it reads is pretty damn intense. Just to name a few: The News Item at the top. The latest check-in just below. Danny’s Blog. A user’s props. Notifications. And that’s all just on the dashboard. Almost every other activity… Read more…

Oh, baby! You know what time it is! Time for another app update! Why update? Why not! Seriously, this might be the release we’re the most proud of since the last one.
